Hello again, Batsy-Bats! I hope you already got used to my monthly blog posts. This one is a review of 2 fantastic companies and a travel advice.
Let’s start with the second thing, since this is a new thing on my blog. In the cover photo of this blog post, you can see me holding an unusal banknote. Besides the fact that its value is 1884 RSD, it has my face on it. The story behind it is that I went a couple of days to the National Bank of Serbia to have it made for this photo shoot. Every visitor can have one made for them. Both enterance and the banknote are free, the staff is very polite and if you’re lucky enough, like I was, you can make metal coins, as well! The building is in the centre of the capital city of Serbia, Belgrade and the building is built on the land parcel where Branislav Nusic, the Serbian playwright, satirist, essayist, novelist, journalist, head dramaturgist of the National Theatre in Belgrade and founder of modern rhetoric in Serbia was born. He was often referred to as the Serbian and Balkan Gogol. He also worked as an editor for various magazines and feuilletonist for Politika, under the pseudonym of Ben Akiba.
If you ever come to Belgrade, I warmly recommend visiting this castle-like building during the day, and if you are an art lover, Ben Akiba club (a place where young artists organise fashion silhouettes, runway shows, play music, sing, read their poetry and books etc, plus they make amazing cocktails) during the night. And if you’re still wondering why 1884, it’s because that was the year when this institution started operating. Here are the links to these places

If you have been asking yourself whether these photos of me were taken in the National Bank of Serbia, they weren’t. They were taken in the Little Bay restaurant. It is well known for its cosy atmosphere, kind staff, excellent food for reasonable prices and its proximity to the National Theatre in Belgrade, which is on the main city’s square, the Republic Square. And not only that! They have classical music all the time, on weekends even live, played mostly by the students of the National Musical Academy. Why I chose this location for the photo shoot is because it looks like a combination of two completely different things, a theatre and a saloon and my theme was steampunk, which represents retrofuturism. I am certain that you don’t want to miss this place: http://www.littlebay.rs/
Even the chair I am sitting on surely has a story for itself, since it is filled with bedding. I wonder how old it is… Definitely older than me and my photographer (The Cynical photographer TheCynicalPhotographer/?fref=ts) together!

The second company is the Zeppelin Craftshop. They make unique, well, everything! The accent is on steampunk accessories, gadgets, things that make your home look outstandingly unusual… anything you can imagine, really, on condition that it is classy and with taste. In these photos you can see me wearing necklaces and goggles by this shop.

The walking stick with the woodwork is handmade by the Zeppelin craftshop, too! Sadly, we didn’t take a close-up photo of the woodwork, before we returned the stick back.

Well, Batsy-Bats, that was all from me for this post. Hope you enjoyed it!
